RESCUING COWS

The cow is a "poem of mercy", and protection of the cow is the gift of Hinduism to the world, because to protect Mother Cow means protecting all weak lives in this world.-- Mahatma Gandhiji

Cows are the foremost of all things. They are sacred, they are the best of cleansers and sanctifiers. People should cherish cows for obtaining prosperity and peace. There is nothing that is more sacred or sanctifying than cows. Without cow protection and cultivation of the brahminical qualities in human society, at least for a section of the members of society, no human civilization can prosper at any length. We pray in the end of daily pooja “GO BRAHMANEBYA SUBHAMASTU NITYAM, LOKAAH SAMASTAH SUKHINO BHAVANTU” in every Sastra, and every Religion cow killing is stronglycondemned. Indeed, one who kills a Cow must suffer for as many years as there are hairs on the body of a Holy Cow.

Protection of Cows is the single-most important principle towards saving the whole world from both moral and spiritual degradation. Simply by protection of Cows all the wonderful benefits of religiosity and piety will be automatically achieved without any separate endeavour. This is because Cows are as beloved to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Krishna.

In spite of the writings in our scriptures on the love and worship towards the ever giving GAU, many cows have been mercilessly sent to the slaughter houses, with an intention to stop this violence the SreeSeva foundation under the guidance of Sri.ManjulaSree Amma garu has been working to achieve the goal by saving thousands of cows, by filing cases with the local police and brining the cows to a shelter and feeding them to normalcy. Initially in spite of not having a shelter for the rescued cows, with the help of various devotees, we started off with a small square piece of land to provide facilities for them. As per government rules only 9 cows are allowed to be transported in a DCM, but many people use that small space to transport about 40 to 45 cows at a time and injuring them heartlessly (these have been cases where the cows were badly injured with veins out and bleeding, cases where the pregnant Cows delivered 4 days on bringing to the Gaushala). We see that such injured cows also have been rescued and loved at our Gaushalas. Hence, there have been risky cases dealt even at the Supreme court level.Sri.Thiruppavai Kokila ManjulaSree Ammagaru has emerged successful in such instances of rescuing thousands of cows.

“Maintaining a single Goshala is equal to the efforts and risk taken to maintain 1000 temples” – Sri Kokila Manjula Sree Amma garu…

As said truly by Sree Kokila Manjula Sree garu that ”Maintaining a single GAU Shala is equal to the efforts and risk taken to maintain 1000 temples” It is strenuous for a single farmer to maintain one cow and think about how much it takes to deal with various issues and maintain many goshala, few such issues are: grass transportation timings, interference by the police in stopping these vehicles in urban areas, other practical problems related to finance and physical health of the cows. Few of these issues have been resolved by taking permissions from the GHMC, so that the cows could be fed on time.

Society for prevention of cruelty to animals SPCA, which had been started with the District Collector as its chairman, the cruelty to Cows has been condemned and Manjula Sree garu has been supporting this association as well
